Hey guys, just bought a new Macbook Pro 13" and I'm having a problem with the battery.
The battery isn't charging the computer when my computer is on. That is, if it's asleep or just booting, it will charge normally, but once it's on battery will drain and it will say there's no power source (other than the battery)
I've done some preliminary searching (nothing too in-depth) but the problems solutions aren't quite working for me.
Some tried solutions:
1. restart
2. smc reboot (l-shift + option + control + power)
3. manual installation of Thunderbolt
4. using a known working power adapter
My power cord is working fine 100% on other Macbook pros like my dad's, only mine has issues leading me to believe there's a software issue. I'm running Lion, however I've tried these before installing Lion and had the same problem, only installing Lion later thinking it might help (couldn't hurt to try...right?)
I'll do some more in-depth forums searching and googling but I thought i'd pop the Q before I headed to sleep.
Edit: My next guess was the software update that was pending (Thunderbolt) and the problem is it won't update the critical firmware without...a power cord plugged in. It probably wouldn't help but that's why #3 is there.
