New MBP C2D Crashed Twice in Two Days -- What is Wrong?

This is a brand new MacBook Pro C2D 15", it has crashed twice since yesterday.
These are the only 2 items that are not from Apple:
1. Using a Logitech® VX Revolution™ Wireless Mouse
2. Added 1 GB G.SKILL Memory which is claimed to be "Apple MacBook and MacBook Pro Compliant"

Both crashes happened after the laptop was idle for several minutes (LCD became dim), when I came back, move the mouse, I got the mutilingule grey message asking reboot...

It's the new added memory? am I that bad luck? Oh I installed several softwares: 1Password, Photoshop CS2, Toast 8, Firefox 2.0, Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, and Parallels Desktop (no Windows installed Yet), can it be softwares?

im guessing on the ram and mouse..try reseating the rams or using the old ones and see if it still crashes.

It's probably the new RAM.

Also, install Adium instead of that Microsoft MSN crap (you can use both Yahoo and MSN with that)...

That's odd...I have the same mouse and RAM...no problems here (knock on wood).

G.SKILL has two 1GB RAMs, the one that doesn't claim MacBook compatiable got very good reviews from many MacBook users, the one I bought is a newer model and claims to be compatiable with MacBook...

Hmmm, I just took the G.SKILL out and requested replacement from Newegg...if the MacBook still crashes before I get the replacement back, then I cannot blame the G.SKILL RAM.

That's odd...I have the same mouse and RAM...no problems here (knock on wood).

I bought the new version of the G.Skill Macbook/Macbook pro compatible RAM when it first came out and it has been working fine in my C2D MBP for months. I did see reviewers claiming the initial version to cause lockups. Hopefully switching out the RAM will solve your problem.

I googled the error with keywords: "macbook invalid frame pointer" and got many related results, it seems the error is very popular and may or may not be related to the RAM, some people even reported that after several Tech. support calls to Apple, Apple let them take the problem MacBook to local Apple store for a brand new replacement. My MBP C2D is brand new, it's manufactured in the 3rd week this year, I don't want to replace it, just want to get the problem fixed.

The G.SKILL RAM is already on its way back to Newegg, hopefully I can get a good one back.

Well, fairly said, Windows itself is not that bad if you have correct components and don't have every available softwares installed all together. Funny thing is, I'm an IT professional using 100% Microsoft technologies, my office PC is a Dell brand with Intel Pentium 3.2G CPU, it's very stable and I never shut it down, only reboot once a week -- I just keep it simple, install only softwares I need for my work.

This is the first Apple computer I bought, if it's as unstable as Windows PCs, then I lose the biggest point buying it.

Just let you guys know, I got crash again AFTER took the G.SKILL RAM out, that being said, the crashes were not caused by the new added G.SKILL RAM.

So far, ALL crashes happened when I moved the Logitech VX Revolution mouse trying to bring up the MacBook from idle status, now I suspect the Logitech mouse driver...

I guess I'm using the latest driver, usually I never install driver from a CD comes with accessories unless the driver is unavailable online. Yes, the VX Revolution mouse itself is excellent, it's actually the best mouse I've ever used.

Try uninstalling and using the trackpad for a while then...
