Hello:) Just a few pictures of my new MBP (C2D 2.33 160HD 256 x1600...) so far Im happy with this machine.. Its quiet, fast and beutiful but...
the issues I have... bloody case gap which is bigger that at the very beginning... just where the magnetic hatch is I can see that the gap is getting bigger... shall I demand replacment or maybe its normal for aluminium case?? Who knows what is the procedure in UK?

Also every time Im waking up it from sleep Im loosing my wireless connection?

The other thing is glossy screen... somehow I managed to create a tiny scratch... and I was really carefull (Im using the radtech microfibre cloth...).. any ideas if there is a way of "reparing" scratch on glossy screen? Its not visible anyway - just me kowing that its there:)

Anyway - some pics

That gap is very very very small - even by my standards. Return? No. If everything else is to your looking, it would be too risky to return it and risk getting one with a more serious defect. I've found that putting a heavy atlas on top over night evens it all out - but at your own risk! With even pressure I think everything is fine. I certainly wouldn't recommend- as some have - trying to bend it with your hands. In any case, it's very very small so just be happy and enjoy!

that is normal - you should not return it expecting anything better.

FYI, the MBP does not have a magnetic latch.

i don't know of any way to get a scratch out of the glossy screen, thankfully this hasn't happened to me. maybe call Apple and ask if they have any suggestions.

when you put the computer to sleep, the wireless shuts off. when you wake up, it should reconnect if there is a preferred network available.

well, in a way it does utilize a magnet.

Outside75,
1. my MBP C2D has similar gap, actually less than a thin fingernail gap. So did my old Titanium. It doesn't bother me at all. Anybody who does NOT have a gap on their machines?
2. when my machine goes into sleep mode (e.g., closing the display cover), it doesn't lose the connection (just tested this as I'm writing this)
3. can't help you with the "scratch" but I used to have a cover for my Titanium, which seemed to trap the heat and make the screen pick up the keyboard imprint even worse. I don't think I'm getting a screen cover for this one.
Don't fret the small stuff. Be happy...

I have a C2D and when i close the lid, i lose connection with my airport. Main thing that bothers me is that Remote Desktop disconnects.

I got the matted screen over the glossy. I think its more practical especially when my room is dusty and i hate finger prints.

Be nice if Costco started selling macbooks that way you can keep on returning it every time there is a defect.

You call that a gap? I guarantee you will probably get one with worse gap issues if you return it Consider yourself lucky if anything!

I've gone through 3 CD MBP and now this C2D MBP. They all pretty much have gaps. Two of them I had, they have uneven gap on left or right. Other two have gap on both left and right. I've given up on trying to get a flawless unit. So I gotta say the issue is very common, but it's not uneven gap then keep it.
