New MBP I'm happy... but no Ilife 08 onboard...sad

Well I took the plunge last night and picked up the 17" MBP 2.4 Core Duo. It is sweet for sure. But when I was at the store I asked twice to ensure the iLife 08 was installed on the laptop and twice I was told yes, get it home and start to try to post some "Events" in iPhoto only to find that the "Events" option is not there. After checking it out it is iLfe 06. What do I do now, it was a discussion with the genius nothing in writting, but I intentionally waited till now to purchase so that I could get the MPB and iLife 08. I do not want to pay extra for what I was told was on the machine. Thanks in advance for any input.

Go back to the store, I bet my MacBook they give you iLife 08, or install it for you.

Duh... It was in a little black box in the MBP box.. sorry

I just opened up a little box in the main box and guess what....... there is iLife 08. Sorry for the incorrect information.

I just got my new MBP also today. I ordered it before ilife 08 came out...first week of August and it came with iLife 08 installed. It was a nice surprise. I'm happy.

YUP! you're quite right...you need to find the CD in the box and install it. Happened to me... enjoy!

I wonder if it was factory-made like that or if the apple store opened them up first...
