Will the new M1 Pro & M1 Max MBP be available for in-store purchase/pickup (US & Canada)?

I just checked Apple store in Australia. It was not available in the morning (PST) but now it's available for pickup for today/tomorrow. So, I hope US/Canada also have some in stock for pickup tomorrow :)

Go to apple.com.au, make sure to force the region into Australia and play around with the configs. When you see “check availability” it means it’s a config they could have in store, if there are any left in stock. I used postal code 2001 (Sydney Opera House).

Looks like there is a lot of stock of the two base pro 16s and very little of the max 32/1tb models. As noted above, the off-menu in store models are 14 max 32/64gb/2tb and 16 max 32/64gb/4tb, which by the way is almost $1000 more in Australian dollars than USD converted :(

So, I have been checking all the countries in the East where it's already 26th, and all of them will have it for in-store purchase. I have checked Japan, Australia, Norway...
I am sure we will have them in stock in US and Canada tomorrow. So if you are planning to upgrade RAM/SSD, you might have to wait until Dec (at least in Canada). Wait until midnight to see the stock, if not then we have to wake up early morning ;-) 5 AM :D

I will have a sleepless night today :p

Looks like we’re waking up early tomorrow ?!

Does it look like the 16” is reserved for the “flagship” stores or is there a pretty even spread everywhere?

Is it midnight in these countries or later?

temping to upgrade to 4tb SSD on the 16 inch 64gb if it’s in stock in store. My preorder is only 1TB but I’ve been thinking about cancelling and upgrading but if I have it shipped it gets pushed back several weeks.

That's available for pickup in AU. But if you change anything in the 14 inch models or anything else in the 16 inch models, the delivery date slips to 7-8 weeks.

Yep. Hence why I'm tempted to pick up the BTO that appears to be available. I already know that I want 64gb of ram but the hard drive is a bit bigger than I had initially planned. Very tempted to jump on the larger hard drive if I see one available to pickup.

I can see myself editing 8k video within the next year. Not export at 8k but use 8k's extreme resolution to some panning, zooming, and cropping after the shoot. I already do this from 4K to 1080P and 8k will just give me more to play with. Need the hard drive space for this though.

Some configurations available for pickup here in the Northeast - MA. Placed an order for an M1 Max, would like to get different specs but don’t want to wait until December and have to get in store pickup to save on sales tax

ALL the local Apple stores in my area have stock for base models at least. I had ordered online, but it was hasty because of the website jam-up. So I just reordered in a leisurely fashion. Saved quite a bit.

Thank you.

My order at Best Buy in Maryland has shown available for pick up today since this morning, but nothing has changed. I went by while I was out to see what was going on and was told they are still on the truck. I don’t know how long it takes to unload a truck from Best Buy but I wouldn’t mind using the device today if it is in fact there.
