Ok, I ordered a SR MBP on June 16 and got it on the 21st, and returned it on the 28th due to wireless issues. That's all good. Apple received my return July 5 and then subsequently cancelled the order for my replacement MBP. 2 minutes later, I had another replacement ordered for me (according to Apple.com) which was supposed to ship on July 16.

It shipped today, July 6th. 10 days early. Not from Shanghai, China, but rather Middletown, PA. Middletown is a town of about 9,000 people. Thus, I have 2 questions and they go hand in hand.

1) Does Apple have any affiliation in Middletown, PA? Or anywhere in PA?
2) Am I getting a new or used machine?*

* I have a fear of getting someone else's returned machine. Anyone know what the hell is going on?

I ordered mine last week, just shipped today from PA as well. You're not the only one! :)

Edit: They also cancled my first order and put in another order to ship sometime next week but shipped today so...

It's good to hear that there are others in the same boat. I feel better now, since its probably not a used one. I still wonder what exactly goes down in Middletown, PA.

Exactly same thing happened to me!

I ordered my MBP on June 28th.

Yesterday I checked my order status and it showed the original MBP as "Canceled" (someone at Apple must have canceled it because I sure didn't) but another MBP was shown as preparing for shipment.

Checked today, and the new one has been shipped and was picked up from MIDDLETOWN, PA this afternoon and should be here Tuesday.

Weird!

PS, mine is a 2.2 (matte) with CTO 160GB HD

I did a little looking and it does look like Apple has a distribution center in Middletown, Pa. My question is did you order a CTO machine with the 7200 rpm drive? I ordered on the first day they became available and I know that some who ordered that particular drive after me have already received theirs. I am just wondering if this could be something positive for those of us that are still waiting. I guess that I am probably grasping at straws, since mine still says "Not Yet Shipped". Best of luck with your new one! Hope it is the one you have been waiting for.

Unfortunately, I only ordered the 5400 rpm 160 GB hard drive. So, no luck here.

I'm sure you probably already have, but try calling apple and discussing the status of your order. If you really think its not going anywhere and you're somehow lost in the system, ask for a full refund and then re-order.

Yeah, I ordered a matte 2.2 with the 5400 160 as well. Looks like good news for me, being on the East Coast and all :)

Thanks for letting me know and the best of luck on your new MBPs. My greatest fears is that I will have waited all this time and will get one that has major problems, I am even starting to have nightmares about the screen. Oh well, I will try to show greater patience and hope for the best. BTW, I have called Apple, but they can't seem to be able to give me any definite answer as to why others have shipped and not mine.
