So I just got my brand new 15'' Macbook Pro, and with a Digidesign Mbox Mini connected to either USB ports, I get a kernel panic within seconds after connecting. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MBox2Mini . This problem occurred before and after installing the software for the Mbox. I am on 10.4.10 . With an iLok or my iPhone connected to either USB port I receive no kernel panic. I just switched from a 17'' MBP where the Mbox worked fine

OK, so it was a problem with the software that comes with the Mbox Mini. I accidentally installed a PPC version then upgraded to the Intel version.

Just now though, I got ANOTHER kernel panic when I disconnected the power adapter from my MBP. Should I be worried something is wrong with the logic board? Because I was getting the kernel panics everytime I connected the Mbox even before I tried installing any of its software. I don't get the descending black curtain when I get the panics, by the way. The "Hold down Shut Down Button" just pops up

If it continues, then re-install OS X with an Archive & Install (not a complete wipe).

If that then doesn't work, try a complete wipe of the HDD and re-install OS X.

If you still get kernel panics, then check any hardware you have connected to the MBP isn't faulty (ie, test it with some other machine).

If you still get issues, it's time to ring Apple.

.. I'd check all other hardware before formatting.
