Yeah, I've been waiting for an intel mac mini with decent graphics! Might be persuaded to buy one of these!

I just saw this thread on InsanelyMac - MCP79 in Mac Mini

It looks like both the mini and the iMac are in for new Nvidia chipsets, which should be sweet!

moving from ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT with 128MB memory to 9400m useing system ram is a down grade and at $1,199.00 or more will just make apple look bad next to psystar.

The mac mini should have 9500 / 9600 or better in the $700 - $900 system.

The 9400 is not just a GPU, it's a full "system on a chip" part, GPU, Northbridge, and Southbridge all in one piece. Just becuase the iMac uses it does NOT mean it will use it for graphics. There's no real reason NOT to use it, even if they don't care about the GPU, since it makes the chipset a standard part for much of their line (think about it, the support chipset on 2/3rds of ALL Macs is identical. And the MBA's is a very close variant. The Mac Pro of course doesn't have the option for that, as Nvidia isn't even making Nehalem chipsets (whee, Intel chipset boards from EVGA).

BTW, anyone who applied the combo update for 10.5.6 want to confirm this? I can't find it in the file, but I did it through software update, so I may be missing part of it.

The guy on InsanelyMac says it's on the new MacBook (Pro) System, so you may need to have one of them to see the code. One of my workmates has one, so I'm going to take a look today.

I thought the iMac had an actual discreet video card anyway rather than anything on-board?

Reason i ask is i'm looking to get an iMac post-macworld
