Will the new Mini be available on Amazon? If so, when? I'd like to save money on shipping and taxes.

Of course, and it will be available when they get it...likely within a week or so.

I'm hoping Best Buy gets them soon. I just bought a Mini there earlier this month. I guess I will switch it out. :)

They only charge tax in states where they have a physical presence (like a distribution center).

I believe amazon ads tax for all states now but I know yes they collect from California now.

No, not all states yet. Many, but not all. More getting hit next year though b/c of agreements and Amazon wanting to open even more warehouses to expedite delivery.

Mac Mall says they will have them in 2 weeks.:(

That's disappointing. I'm guessing it will be similar for Amazon. I don't have to have a new mini right now, so I guess I'll wait. Apple will charge over $60 in taxes, so I may as well wait for Amazon to get them.

Their website shows the mid-level is available to order and ships in 1-2 days but when I got to the final stage of check out it shows availability as "Call Us." They also have free shipping available.

I'm not sure if I should go ahead and order or wait for Amazon since I have Amazon Prime.

Mac Mall is a no-go for me; I don't want to pay the sales tax if I don't have too. I also have Amazon Prime so I'm going to hold out until Amazon gets them.

"Call Us" means they don't have it, and since they don't have it, you'll have to wait until they get it, so you might as well wait until it shows "in stock."

They did not charge me Sales Tax (AL). I think I will wait on Amazon too though. Even if Amazon gets it after them, Prime shipping more than makes up for their free "3-7 days" shipping.

I know Amazon has good prices but I believe they have to follow certain pricing guidelines. Is there usually much of a price benefit by ordering from there?

Sales tax at my local Apple Store is 7%. I'm thinking if I get a Mini and iPad 4, it will be worth a 220 mile round trip journey to NH. A few hours and $20. for gas will still save me about $85.00. I could put that towards a cover and still have $ left over for a great lunch and drinks.

From what I've seen, the Minis on Amazon are the same price as what Apple will charge ($599 and $799). But the MBP are offered at big discounts from time to time. I purchased a 13" non-Retina MPB last week for just over $1,000. It's still $1,199 on Apple's site.

Those prices along with not paying tax are a huge bonus to me (as well as free 2-day shipping).

Thanks for the heads up. (Pre)Ordered!

Just out of curiosity, how did you find that link? No matter how I try to search on Amazon, I can't find it on my own.

Go to the old Mac Mini and there is "See newer model of this item" link.

Pre ordered mine too
