Unreal, I've messed around with my gaming PC trying to get it to 'talk' to our Sony HDTV and after several cables, it working...then not working, to now not working at all I figured I'd give the Mini a try. I've attached my MBP to the TV with no issues so I had high hopes.
Cables used:
Monster cable HDMI - DVI (don't worry, I spent less than $15 for it)
3.5mm - RCA (audio)
Previous gen Bluetooth Mac Keyboard (used on eBay)
Logitech wireless mouse
I plugged everything in and turned it on.....it automatically picked up the Sony and adjusted the image size*. I set everything up and that was it. Went from months of trying to 5min.
* The Mini automatically set video to 'Overscan' and the image was actually larger than the screen. Un-clicking that and letting the TV do the overscan yields a monitor that is completely full
Now that I know it works, I have some RAM to install
