I live in Italy and I´m going to buy a mac for my mother. I´m leaning for towards a mini + a nice display than a 12" iBook. So I wonder if I would get the rev C or rev B mini if I order now from apple.it ?

Other alternative is to buy the rev A 80GB for 400 euros and then install a cheap 1GB ram. Does it matter if it is PC2700 or PC3200 type?

All advice is appreciated.

I'd wait a little longer -- that's if your mother can afford to of course!! The rumors are a plenty regarding a mini revision in January '06.

But, take a look through the following threads...

... Some of the posters are European; as I'd asked the same question before ordering the 1.5 mini [I'm in the UK]. But with all the talk of revisions come January I'm going to wait it out!!

Good luck... ;)

The Mac Mini requires the PC2700 type of RAM. It's a different chipset than 3200 (which the Power Mac uses, for example).

Not true! The Mac Mini works with PC2700 and up (DDR RAM). My one came with 512MB PC3200 and i upgraded it myself to 1GB Corsair Value PC3200 (VS1GB400C3). As long as you get DDR ram PC2700 or over which fits in your board then it should work.
