Some speculation there just might be a new mac mini on March 21 because the skylake processors are ready and both of the screen-less macs are getting pretty old. The mac pro evidently is in for a major redesign which will take still longer. Cant figure out why a company with gazillions of employees cant upgrade products more quickly especially at the prices they charge. If so, then look for used machines to drop in value.

grcar, I hope you are right that a new Mac Mini is in the works. I hope it wont be like this last set of castrated orphans.

Looks like they're working on a quality replacement, rather than a quick and dirty refresh of overpriced goods.

Sadness ... gotta wait till june, univ discount days

History said they wouldn't introduce a Mini in the first quarter and they didn't (so far ... 10 days to go). The last two Mini introductions where in October, but the two previous to that were in the summer. So, there's hope. But maybe the iPad Pro is the PC replacement and no more new Mini's, Macbooks, Macbook Pros, Macbook Airs, Mac Pros or iMacs.

I admit I would be surprised if Apple dropped its laptop line in favour of the iPad Pro being "the mobile computer." After all, most people would end up buying a keyboard and then someone would make a keyboard in a case that holds the iPad in front ... kind of like well... a laptop. Then again, Apple would lose not only good faith but a lot of dollars if they did away with the laptop line.

Some of the low-end 2012 mac minis (MD387LL/A) have begun to sell on E-bay for around $370, which is $50 less than the price just a week ago. Maybe the price of old machines is dropping because new machines are about to come out. Markets are supposed to be an efficient way to spread information.

Just saying. Bay sellers have no clue as to when a new mac mini is coming. The only reason the price is lowered is because of supply and demand.

Markets can't spread information that only apple has.

Probably not, there are markets for these models, producers of contents and apps for iOS devices is one of those.
