Decided to try Mobile Me. I told it to sync my calendar. Now I have duplicate entries for almost everything in iCal on my Macbook.

Also, the colors assigned to the different calendars ("Work" and "Home") are different between iCal and MobileMe.

For example, I had an appointment in iCal on my "Home" calendar, which was blue. After joining MobileMe, I now have a duplicate entry, from the MobileMe calendar, but it is Green.

This is very frustrating, I expected it to be a bit more robust.

It depends on wether you are using the old or new MM calendars... I assume you are using the new MM calendar since you just signed up. See this link:

http://www.apple.com/support/mobileme/

Once there click "New MobileMe Calendar" then click "Using the new MobileMe Calendar on a Mac and iCal"

So basically I need to verify that all my iCal stuff got copied into MobileMe, and then if so, simply delete the iCal calendars. So that only the MobileMe calendars remain. Seems simple enough!

Thanks for the pointer.
