I'm looking to replace (or run side by side) my current monitor which kind of sucks, it's a LG flatron e2742v.

Primary use would be for photography with some games tossed in. I'm not a hardcore gamer, maybe some GTA or something here and there. I'm not all about fps.

Looking at least 27" with a realistic color gamut. Don't really need curved or super ultra wide or even speakers built in.

Price? 500 maybe? I don't know how much to expect to spend. Would I be better off picking up a TV to use?

I have a 1080 GTX to push the display (s)

For 4K with an IPS screen, you're basically limited to the low-end stuff from LG & HP (Envy). Basically all the other low-end 4K monitors are TN and have problems with color accuracy and viewing angles (although they're better for high frame rate)

I've got both a low-end LG and HP 4K screen. I'm happy with both

So maybe a decent 1080p monitor may be the better bet for now? I really don't have much going on in terms of 4k at the moment anyway

Still looking for suggestions if anyone has any

A decent 1080p screen will go for only around $100, so that's not a bad bet. However if you can wait, I wouldn't bother with a 1440p screen (which normally go for $250+). The low end LG 4K screen normally goes for around $350 on amazon, but can be had at times for as low as $280 (depending on the sales at the moment). That's about the same price as a 1440p screen, but the LG screen can also do 1440p @60Hz and is future proofed by being a 4K screen
