Looks like a Verizon only at this point. Should be a nice phone. Especially at 5.2 inches and sounds like a good camera. No SD card and only available with 32gb. The name is kind and of stupid. With that resolution on a 5.2 inch screen imagine the ppi.

The main talking point of the Droid Turbo is its 2k (2,560 x 1,440) 5.2-inch pixel display. 2k resolutions already exist on the LG G3 (5.5-inch) and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (5.7-inch), but this is the first time we’ve seen it used on anything that could just about be used with one hand.

Internally, benchmarks tag it as having the latest Snapdragon 805 chipset and Krait 450 GPU outpacing the 801 chips used in all its major rivals (HTC One M8, Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z3, LG G3, etc) and combines that with 3GB of RAM. These are Note 4-equivalent phablet specs in a smartphone.

Another eye watering element is the 21 megapixel camera. Until now Motorola has shown no desire to compete in a megapixel race but with its cameras so far proving good if not class leading, it seems the company is logoking to turn heads this time around.

Of course more megapixels don’t automatically mean better pictures – as the iPhone 6’s impressive 8 megapixel camera shows – but in combination with its 4k Ultra HD video recording those 21 megapixels will still generate interest....

Sure, but they really ought to redesign the Droid line already. I couldn't really think of an uglier phone on the market, and the OG Droid marketing was different and effective, now it's just annoying and outdated.

Hoping they take notes from the Moto x. Not sure if they are in different segments within Motorola though.

If I had Verizon, this would probably be my next phone. Moto is my favorite android OEM

Looks pretty nice, nice ppi, one annoyance for me is the back button on the left, I much prefer it on the right. And I'm on AT&T. Should be nice to check out though!

Ah, the Droid is making a comeback. I'm honestly not feeling that design tho. Hopefully Moto comes out swinging with this one. And I'll admit that I do miss those Verizon Droid commercials. I also miss when HTC made droids too. Good times. I say bring back the Incredible next year. It's nothing short of its name.

Back button makes more sense on the left. That's how stock android is and the left means back.

As much as Verizon annoys me, this is a badass phone, as is the Xperia Z3v. People have some killer options on Verizon.

My concern with the Droid Turbo is Motorola customizing apps and then not updating their UI when Google does. Last year's Droids had an ugly customized version of the Phone app, and I don't believe it was ever updated to the KitKat style dialer. They did finally change the menu bar icons to white from blue, though.

In the photos of the Turbo I see a custom email icon which to me means they've customized the KitKat email app. That concerns me because the new Lollipop email apps looks very nice, from the screenshots I've seen.

Other than that complaint the Turbo seems like an amazing phone. I'm anxious to see how the screen looks compared to the Moto X.

I had 5600 mA battery case on my S4. It was amazing. Kind of ridiculous. You would be at about 75 - 85 percent battery life at the end of a work day.

Once I got confirmation that Nexus 6 was hitting Verizon the Droid Turbo died on my top 3 list. It's between Note 4 and Nexus 6 now. For me it's Gear VR vs unlocked bootloader.

This is the new Droid Turbo, and it looks amazing

I think this is the underdog Android phone of 2014. If you like regular but still a bit bigger sized non phablet phones, IMO this is hands down the #1 best Android phone this year, and if Motorola made a GPE version of the Turbo, or a 'Developer edition' for GSM networks, that would make this possibly the best Android ever created.

I would have zero problem paying the full price $650 for a GPE version of the Turbo on GSM. Would be happier with something like that over the Nexus 6, due to the super sharp display this Turbo has, and huge battery that will easily power this beast all day long and most likely two days of battery life.

- 5.2" QHD 1440p display ( but with captivate keys makes it more like a 5.4" if this was Nexus )
- 565 ppi  Crazy sharp and detailed screen
- 3,900mAh battery
- Snapdragon 805 :D
- 3GB RAM :D

I am entertaining returning the 2014 X I recently purchased for this beast. It would cost more but probably be worth it.

The new X is great btw but this would be greater unless there are serious flaws with it.
