Yeah. I was hoping for 16:9 screen so it could be acceptable for videos. Well, I guess Apple wants people to buy iTouch for videos

I have. Plus it's an option. What does the new nano have that the old doesn't besides touch screen? It's more about taking away features.. which is kind of odd. If they added a 32gb option I would go for it, but even with 16gb there's no reason for me to go get a new nano when I can prob get a new 5G 16gb nano for cheap too and better features.

The new Nano is a HUGE step backwards, no more camera, no more video playback, no more speaker, smaller screen, higher price and worst of all, no more clickwheel for easy navigation.

What do you get in return apart from a stupidly small touch screen?

A clip.

I watched it on my third generation (before I got my iphone) and then promptly didn't cause the only time I'd really need that is on a plane and I had my laptop to watch video on with a much better screen. My nano is mainly used when I am walking my dog, excercising, riding my motorcycle. All things that size is completley more important than being able to watch video.

And now, even if I didn't have a laptop, I could much easier watch video/movies on my iphone (or really any smartphone).

Video is not what is going to keep the nano selling enough to justify keeping it around. Apple knew that and sacrificed it.

It's a product for people who need portability, not tons of functionality. If you need tons of functionality, get the touch. It will do all those functions much better than the nano (and honestly is not that much bigger than the fifth generation. I mean if I had to have one ipod and didn't have an iphone, that's what I'd get. Shoot, the only reason the nano has any advantage to me enough to even keep it around is the fact that it's small. The iphone could serve my purposes I use the nano for, but the nano is superior for those purposes solely cause it is smaller so fits in a pocket better).

well I used it to watch videos occasionally, on the plane before etc, not really a big deal, but it's just a removal of option like the video cam. The thing is, I have an iPod 2G shuffle that the new nano reminds me of. So if I wanna go up to have a screen, why pick the new nano? I feel like the 5G has more to offer. I'm just confused what the new nano has to offer over last gen.. Smaller size + clip? I'm just mostly disappointed in no size increase. A 32gb I would buy no matter what the features that were taken out.

Because the 2g doesn't support the remote on the headphones (for me that feature is just *that* good that it gives any current ipod a huge edge over previous ones).

This is the *sole* reason I like my fifth gen ipod over my third gen ipod (I miss how much easier my third gen fits my pocket). Ok, it's not the sole reason, the only other reason is they fixed searching for songs so it is easier to find a song (it can sense when you are just trying to scroll further and starts going by alphabet). But you know, touch screen is still superior for finding a song in a long list over the clickwheel so the newest nano is better for that than the fifth gen.

I love how you're angry like Apple owes you an iPod nano that meets your specifications.

Just buy a 5th gen on eBay.

Lol, what kind of video are you planning on watching on a screen that small anyway? Lets not even think about the bars at the top and bottom there would be from dealing with the aspect ration.

Is anyone really mad they can't watch their 1080p content on an inch vertical screen?

I'm fine with that, the screen is too small anyways, I think they refocused the nano on Music, I really like the wearability of it but i wish it was 99$, that way they could kill the shuffle or something

Guys, I don't get it! Why doesn't my keychain photo view play videos so I can watch all of lord of the rings on my flight??

Yeah, I was kinda disappointed the new Nano can't play video and they took out the external speaker. Not like I was looking forward to getting a Nano anyway. My iPhone 4 is all I need to carry around. But the concept of it being a watch sounds cool and I like to have those options even if the screen is so small.

I will wait for next year's model and see if I will consider finally getting one. Hoping Nano 7 gets an external speaker, a slighter bigger screen, and perhaps even the video recorder back. The concept of a watch has so much potential, but I feel Apple took a step forward, and then many steps back by taking away last year's features. I can wait. The Nano might help reignite me at wearing a watch again. Just not this year's model.

Well firstly, I don't actually want any kind of nano. I'm just annoyed about the sheer number of features apple thought they can trade off in favour of making it smaller. What the hell is apples obsession with making it smaller, it doesn't make it any more useful/practical and don't tell me everyones gonna wear it on their wrist or clipped to clothing.

Multi-touch on a 1.5 inch screen just seems kinda pointless.

This year's model looks to be rip-off. To me, this is the iPod shuffle with touchscreen. Just has the "iPod nano" branded to it.

If you were coming from an iPod shuffle, I would understand getting one. But if you already had the 4th or 5th gen Nano, then this one just seems worthless to own. The idea of a watch sounds good though. But this year's model has enough features lacking compared from the previous generations that it doesn't make it a worthy, instant purchase. Wait and see if Apple can bring back those features for 2011 and then it can potentially be my next watch too!

something tells me the new nano will be next years "shuffle" replacement and we will see something inbetween that and the touch. but for now just get a touch if you need video playback.

Next year the nano will be a triangular shape that will play 3D movies out of its ass with a speaker on each side to confuse the hell out of the aeroplane passenger in the next seat!

Ugh, the new nano is just a huge step back to 2005/2006 technology except for the touch screen which I don't really care about.
