iPod New Nano Capable of Voice Recording?

Hi everyone

As with most, I'm a bit disappointed with the recent update (I guess that's my fault for assuming, though).

Anyway, I was hoping for an ipod touch with voice record capabilities for lectures/interviews/meetings/etc. I know the new nano has a mic.

Does anyone know if that mic can also be used for recording audio only?
