New Navigon Features

I bought the Live Traffic feature and I'm not fully sure how to use it. I submitted a destination that I knew would have traffic to see how it looks. The car icon appeared in the left hand top corner. I clicked on it and a new map was displayed with alert icons. Not sure that map provides any value. There were two buttons on the button with times on them. Are these alternate routes, and if so how do you know which way they are taking you?

You can also click on the alerts that are on your route, but all the way to the right there is an icon for gears or an arrow, and when you click on them they change. What's the purpose here?

Big fan of Navigon, but I want to fully understand the new features. Wish they did a better job of supplying on-line help or a web page that fully documents all features.

Wondering the same things here after purchasing the add on. Considering what these products cost, I'm kind of surprised there is absolutely no documentation. (Well, at least anything beyond the very, very basics).

When you click the icon, one of them will avoid the selected accident or congestion, but I am not sure what the other buttons do. I am amazed that there is no documentation for those features. They had enough time to write some!

There really should be some web pages with pictures of the new features with instructions written to go along with them. I'm sure it's not complicated, but it's also not intuitive.

I went to buy the traffic add-on but I wanted to check the features first (it directs you to www.navigon.com/iphone to read more about it, but the link doesn't work.)

Really a bad show, Navigon. I'll hold on to my $20 for now.

It has the icon to let you see traffic close to you when you want to check. It takes that traffic into account when calculating a route to avoid delays. That's what it says when you buy it anyway.

If you go into your options you can choose whether to have the program ignore traffic, automatically take it into account when routing, or only take it into account on demand. I just set mine to automatic. If it has to recalculate, it will state 'Recalculating due to traffic'.

Strange, the icon that was present on the map screen is gone. Has anyone had this issue? I can go into options and access traffic info but the icon/shortcut is now missing.

Believe it only shows up if there's traffic that might affect your route.

I sympathize with people who are disapointed about the lack of documentation.

Documentation is a big cost for companies, and the main problem with this app is that they keep adding new features and updating it.

If it were a product with a normal produciton cycle I'm sure documentation would be included, however they see to be so busy with updating the app and adding features, there is no documentation.

Personally I would rather them keep updating the app, just my 2 cents.

Not sure I agree. I'm sure Navigon has tech writers on staff. A simple web page could be linked to their existing site with screenshots and simple bullet points. The on-line page could easily be created in a single day, and offer great support. I think more people would buy the updates if they knew there was good documentation how to use it, easily covering any costs for creating the documentation.
