Hi all,

I'm in the process of upgrading some of the internals in my Mini (Its a 1.83Ghz Core Duo Mini), i've bought a new Intel SSD, intend to upgrade the processor and add some more RAM.

However the main reason I started out on this path is because my optical drive (Mashita) is bust and I need to replace that too, question is, there seems to be a plethora of different options out there and i'm not sure which drive I should be trying to source. So questions are:

- Can I use a slim one (9mm?) or do I have to stick to the 12.7mm versions.
- What connection does the Mini use for it's optical drive
- Is there a particular model that people recommend fitting to this model of Mac Mini.

Appreciate all responses, thanks! :)

Nick

Have you considered adding a 2nd HDD (using an OptiBay) instead of replacing the optical drive?

Well I've got an external HDD already, i'd rather for reasons of keeping items on the desk down to a minimum replace the internal optical drive if at all possible. Good idea though!
