New OS X Server released today also.
I just found out Server 4.0 isn't a free update. That sucks.
have you installed it yet?
any issues to report?
i'm thinking of waiting a month or so to see what craps out and gets fixed before i install on my mission critical system...
plus i like to do clean installs and won't have the time to do that till mid november at the earliest...
Nothing yet...seems to have been a fairly painless update overall
sweet, hope it stays that way
p.s.
do you have RADIUS running? and if so, did that update without a problem?
Ah. Lame.
Oh come on. It hasn't EVER been free. OS X Server used to cost $499, then it was $50, and it's been $20 for the last few years.
Is MS giving you Windows Server for free? Windows Server can do a lot more than Server.app can, it's true, but you get an awful lot for $20.
I haven't seen any issues with Server 4 so far, except that NetInstall was turned off by the update, so I had to turn it back on.

Yeah, you're telling me. I have 3 Windows Server 2012 R2 machines. No where even close to the $60 that 3 OS X Servers would cost.
Hell the Windows Server licenses alone are more than Mac hardware + Server.app would cost. Since I could run Mini's with Server.app.
new server app still working without a hitch for you?
I came across a rather weird issue yesterday.
I checked my users and groups, which before final version I only had 1 user, me.
All of a sudden I had 152 users with caution symbols and around 200 groups.
1st thing I did was a repair permissions and restart, nothing.
2nd remove all extra users, repair permissions restart, all the users came back within 10 minutes of restart.
Next, removed extra groups, users, repair, restart, now I can't Screen Share in.
I can "Connect" and see the shared drives associated with my user name but Clicking ScreenShare asks to enter the username and password. I do and I get denied.
I disconnect from the server, reconnect using my same username and password and it connects back and shows all the shared files but ScreenShare still won't let me remotely connect in.
I just need to get time to connect a monitor to the machine and see what's going on.

Is the server app licensed on a per-machine basis? I though it was licensed like all other App Store content, 1 purchase for all machines that use the same Apple ID. I'd think it would be $20 flat (as if the licensing fee difference wasn't staggering enough).
could it be that those additional users and groups a part of the system user/groups?
In Mavericks server if you select "View -> Show System Accounts" or if you press "Shfit+Command+ -) it toggles that feature... if you had done so by accident and then went on to have deleted all of these it could have messed up your server app quite a bit.
