New P2715Q Display Not Recognized

On a late 2014 iMac 27" Retina a new Dell P2715Q display is not recognized. I've tried a Thunderbolt to Display Port cable that came with the screen and Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt connector. What is the secret to getting this display to be seen? Thanks
[doublepost=1515096015][/doublepost]Fixed it. It helps if you have your Display Port connector plugged all the way in on the monitor.
