Does the power brick with ethernet connection work like a Powerline ethernet adaptor? That is - could two similarly equipped imacs connect via ethernet on their power brick over house wiring?

Hi monchrumors,

The iMacs power brick is not a powerline adapter and wouldn’t function like this.

The power brick is merely to take AC line voltage and convert it to DC (PSU) where the thin iMac would not to house the power supply.

Ethernet port is to allow wired LAN pass thru to the iMac.

I am ordering the base iMac and adding the $30 Ethernet option which makes me think the power brick will be upgraded to the upper tier models.
