We've run into this issue with Ricoh equipment. In our case, the issue was that they only supported the print function for Macs and didn't produce a scanner driver.
But yes, Samsung support is definitely the way to go.
Is the printer connected directly to the computer? Printers attached to print servers cannot scan. I went nuts trying to figure out why my scanner wasn't working until I found this out.
in order for ANY scanner to work, you MUST have a TWAIN module that supports the device, either built in as part of the driver package, or as a seperate plug in file........
Does Samsung claim that your model is mac-compatible, in the specs or somewhere on the box ? If so, then the drivers linked to above should do the trick
