It shows on Apple's website that the Bright Blue Apple Watch is "New".

Did they change something like with the classic buckles? Is it darker, more soft.

Well it was in the title...It is now "Midnight Blue" instead of "Bright Blue". They also added a rubber gasket in the metal ring the band goes through.

They changed the shade of blue. It's no longer called "Bright Blue" and is now known as "Midnight Blue". I wonder what the gasket if for?

The black one looks like it, too, was updated with the rubber gasket. I wonder what the change is for...

If I remember correctly, there were a number of complaints regarding clicking sensation in the loops and it looks like the gasket is to ameliorate this issue.

Ahhh... that could very well be it. I've noticed that my leather loop clicks a bit as I move my hand/wrist around. But on mine it seems to originate from the stretch of band that is overlapped on itself. The band itself doesn't click when fully open and loose. But when its folded against itself and doubled up, it clicks when it is flexed. The more overlap, the more clicking. That gasket may be there to help with any clicking at the buckle as you say. Or maybe it is to prevent wear on the leather at the point of contact?

Yep happens to me. I wonder how that gasket could help, since the movement in the loop seems unrelated. Guess someone will let us know.

Still no 38mm loop. Come on Apple. Get with it!

You know, that actually disappointed me the most. It's a great design, and I don't understand why it's left out of 38mm. After yesterday's event, I went ahead and ordered a 3rd party version of it in 38mm. We'll see if it's any good.

EDIT: Wow, that was fast. I received my Wearlizer 38mm loop from Amazon, and, while I don't recall the exact quality of the real Apple loop, this feels pretty close. Certainly worth the $30-$40, IMO.

I'd guess it's more to do with wear, but that's just a guess..

I'm also wondering if it really is a gasket. Perhaps it's a magnet?

It could also just be an optical illusion in the photos where it looks like there is a gasket due to the leather of the strap reflecting on the mirror finish of the stainless steel buckle. When I look at mine with the strap through the buckle, it looks like a gasket is there.

I guess we will have to wait for a real world review.

any pics of it?

Can anyone with a new leather loop confirm if there is indeed a rubber gasket of some sort in the loop buckle? I haven't yet seen one in person.

My thought is - maybe the rubber gasket helps to keep the band from loosening slightly throughout the day, which may also help alleviate the phantom tapping issue the band had for some.

I would hope so. I liked this band but didn't love it when I had one.

It's exactly that. I have the old black and the new midnight blue. The magnets feel exactly the same but the blue dosnt loosen the way the black does

Does the new blue have a gasket or not? FYI my launch black does not loosen at all.

Hopefully the gasket is there to stop the band from getting loose while wearing it. I had one for a few days and was constantly adjusting the tightness of the band. Ended up returning it because of it. I may have to give it another try if they have fixed this issue.

So, does the new band actually have a black gasket in the buckle? Can someone that owns one confirm this?
