New Refurb Prices?

Did anyone happen to catch the new refurb prices on the core 2 duo macbooks? I think Apple dropped them by $100 from the pre-update price, but I'm not sure. I'm crossing my fingers for a slightly bigger price drop on the blackbook...

Blackbook $1049

This morning they had the black macbook w/ 2.0GHz & 120GB for $1049, only a $50 premium over the white w/ 80GB hard drive; $50 for 40GB of HD space, not bad. Don't know that I like the black, but at least here you're no longer paying a premium for the case color. May pick it up next time it comes around; I actually had it in my cart but decided against it, might not have that restraint next time...

May pick it up next time it comes around; I actually had it in my cart but decided against it, might not have that restraint next time...

I bought one of those this morning with 1Gb of memory. Figured the newer models would not offer much of a performance bump. It is already being shipped.

It will be my first Mac/Apple since the LC II back in the early 90's.

Yeah, I broke down and bought it this morning also, I kind of knew I was going to do it the next time I saw it. I'm fairly certain that we're not getting refurbs at all, we're far more likely getting clearance stock. I'm kind of hoping that it actually is a refurb, as I was hoping to get the freebie upgrade to 2GB of RAM... 8) I'd bet that the percentage of blackbook buyers that upgraded to 2GB is more than the overall percentage, so hopefully we'll get the bonus.

I'm happy, I think it's an outstanding deal @ $450 off, this will be my first Mac so I'm looking forward to playing around with it; my dad's been a Mac guy since the early 90s but I didn't even consider it until they could run Windows. I still hate Apple for not updating the mini to C2D yet, I've been waiting (and still am waiting) to buy one since last August, but at least now I can start playing around with OSX.

I bought the exact same one for $1189 in Canada. It arrives on Tuesday. Unfortunatly I am hitting the "Track Package" feature once every 5 minutes. Funny though, it has been in Rancho Cordova for a day ...
