Had to go swap my phone out today, the restore from backup routine was a bit interesting.

Despite backing up and transferring purchases prior on iTunes, Beta 5 seem to insist on downloading apps from the cloud, instead of the sync process via iTunes. If this is the standard for iOS 9, people better pray they have fast wifi or no data cap.

Btw, is there a way to know if the restore has stopped? Don't want the process running in the background and draining batt.

This was not the case for me. It may be that your iTunes copy was not current, so it downloaded the store copy, but mine always transferred from iTunes (on the 9 betas).

Yeah did it during beta 3 and restored as expected.

Maybe it's beta 5? Or just me?
It downloaded ALL apps from the App Store (like an iCloud restore),
so I don't think it's an out-of-date app situation.
