Good morning! A brief introduction of myself, I'm a long time iOS developer (been around since the AppStore opened up basically). I have a totally new app that I want everyone's feedback on called SR2 SCIF. The short version is it is a secure messaging app using end to end encryption and is available for free iPhone and iPad (https://apps.apple.com/app/scif/id1523308108), and Android devices (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sr2solutions.scif). Currently it is available for free in US, Canada, UK, France, and Australia.
SCIF stands for "Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility", a term used most frequently in the intelligence community to describe a facility that maintains secure communications between different locations used to transmit information safely and securely. Features include full AES 256 encryption with Elliptic Curve Cryptography for key exchanges. Techno jargon translation, it's using the best encryption available to make sure that not even the people in our company can decrypt your messages.
But that's not where the security ends, with just encryption. People use their smartphones in a variety of situations including out in public where people might be "shoulder surfing" your screen to see what conversations you're having. So we've included privacy screens that hide messages on the screen that you're not reading. And unlike most secure communications, we actually show you the encryption being used on your messages.
At the end of the day we're developing SCIF to be the best way to communicate with your family, friends, and business associates when sending sensitive information like account numbers, family passwords, medical information, or anything else that you simply don't want falling into the hands of hackers who may use this information against you to steal your identity or otherwise cause harm to your digital life.
Some of the features that we have in store for future releases include a public "drop off" page for your account where people can send you files securely without even needing a SR2 SCIF account. All they need to know is your public URL. Making it a great option for working with sensitive information with clients in your own business!
While it is free currently, we are planning on adding a paid tier for a subscription of $4.99 (USD) a month, or $29.99 (USD) a year. A pretty decent discount of half for signing up for a whole year.
