The college i work for currently has an old Mac Xserve running 10.3.9. We have now brought a new xserve 10.6.4, and i have been tasked to implement this new system. They have approx 500gb of data on the drive which is full!
The new server has 3 x 2tb drives which are running in a raid 5 configuration, we also have backups of the mac server from the symantec backup system.
I need to figure out a way to easily and quickly migrate the data from the old mac to the new one. We were thinking about restoring the backup to the new server, but apparently the agent does not restore all the permissions with the files.
Any help would be much appreciated!
