Hi, I've created a design for a site I created using Drupal on Mac (Yeah MAMP!). The site is an adaptation of an idea I saw elsewhere in French. Liked it so much that I made an english version :) I'll probably reuse this design on anothersite.

I'd like some feedback on the layout, colors, navigation & how easy it is to find information.
Write your bad day and make it funny in 300 characters
Thanks!

I really hate the design, something about it made my eyes bleed. The colours and layout just confuse and don't encourage me to stay longer than a second.

I'm also not a big fan of the color scheme. I like orange, but that's too much. Need some different colors in there. I also don't like how so much of the text is a link to something.
  • Your vote up/down graphics are hard to see and hard to tell what they are for. The vote score should probably be next to the vote buttons.
  • The upper-left navigation doesn't work quite right, and by that I mean when I mouse over the links it only shows as a link (mouse cursor changing to a hand) when I move it to the bottom of the link text. Something to look into.
  • There's three separate navigation menus at the top just in the header. You might want to try and consolidate them in some way or change the way you have them presented.
  • Contrast is good for most of the site. The smaller text in the header for your logo (Making it funny in 300 words) is hard to read though because of its contrast and its small size.
  • Though there's a decent amount of white space between "entries" I think it would be nice visually to have something more separating them.
  • If you care about validation the HTML doesn't validate, but looks to be easy fixes.
I like the idea of the site, though not something I personally would ever partake in. I don't really like having the whole world know about my life. But good luck with the site. There's definitely not a lack of people who are willing to share too much about themselves to the entire world.
