I have an older model 30gb ipod i bought along with my macbook last august and i was curious if there was any new software i could install on it? i hooked it up to itunes, did a total system restore and checked for updates and it said it was up to date, but i was just curious if there was any other way?

for reference, im comparing it to the new ipod classic's that have cover flow and different menus

thanks for the help :)

You won't be able to use the exact same software as the hardware won't necessarily support it.

There are, however, some websites that have lookalike themes...they don't look exactly the same but it's the best you'll be able to do (and I don't even think they'll have cover flow) and it will involve hacking your iPod.

If you want the real thing you'll have to save up for the new classic.

all good man, i appreciate the reply...

i just dusted it off today and decided to start tinkering with it again b/c i just use my new iphone 3g for all my mobile music needs but i figure i can load up the ole ipod and use it in my car b/c it holds a LOT more music and seems a little bit more durable than the 3g as far as keeping it in the cup holder

thanks again
