Sonnet released yesterday a new USB-C card which does not require a power adapter:

Each USB port on the card can supply up to 7.5 watts of power and operate at Gen2 speeds, enabling file transfers up to 10 gigabits per second. I'm definitely going to try one on my MP.

Should be able to edit the title.

Physical USB Type C ports don't necessarily mean Thunderbolt.

The card is primarily just USB 3.1 gen 2 via some Type C ports. That doesn't bring Thunderbolt into the mix much at all. Quality , relatively short, passive cable can be used for both 3.1 gen 2 and TB but a TB peripheral won't necessarily work on the end of one these ports at all. ( if it happens to have a 'fall back' USB only mode perhaps, but that isn't required. )


It appears there is a 4 port Type A version as well.
