am i the only one feeling the new spotlight window small and cramped??

i am using a 27inch monitor and when i search something i got this small central window that i have always to scroll...

is there a way to make it bigger??

Funny, on a 15" rMBP it's too big.

In either case, there is no way to resize or move the window, the latter making referencing info underneath it annoyingly difficult. One has to either anticipating it happening, or find out, close the Spotlight window, move the reference window, then open Spotlight again.

IMO, a strong case of "what were they thinking?".

On a more positive note, the always-on quick view sometimes is handy sometimes even gives you more info than before. For instance, an application displays its version.

I must say that out of many cool things introduced in Yosemite (assuming there were no bugs) the new Spotlight is a failure in my opinion.

I prefered it in top right hand corner, where it used to be unobtrusive.

That's interesting - I find myself using spotlight a lot more now with the shortcut, apple-space, since the redesign.

I think it's way too big on my MacBook Air and has gotten much more obtrusive. Now it just blocks everything behind, which is annoying especially when I want to do quick calculations.

YES, i really don't like the new interface, its far too obstructive... it also doesn't make much sense to still have the icon on the upper-right hand corner... It does seem too big for a 15 inch screen. though obviously, on a 27 inch screen, everything seems tiny!

I find the new spotlight to be huge and obtrusive. Wish it was back in the corner. :(

The shortcut has been available for many versions now. Unfortunately, it's the same shortcut Photoshop uses for zoom-in, so for me the Spotlight one is disabled.

I find it slightly irritating that you now have to double click to open an item in a spotlight search. Previously single click worked.

I think it looks nice in the centre but it is not as practical to work with. It would be good if you could switch the previews off to make it slightly less obtrusive.
