Hi, the battery in my new macbook pro is slightly loose. It doesn't move from side to side, but if you slide your finger under the laptop and press up, the battery will move upwards a little. Is it normal to have a little play this way?

Thanks.

Take a small piece of electrical tape, double it and cut it to a very small strip and put it in the battery compartment where the gap is. I've done this for years since the powerbook titanium. Works perfectly. Just put it on the edge inside, not anywhere in the middle.

It's very common, yes.

I've got the C2D model of the MBP, and my battery has always had a little bit of room for upwards movement, as well as side to side.

Great, thanks guys - I appreciate the fast response and I like that tip about the electrical tape!

This is my first aluminum notebook so I'm not sure what to expect as far as the case / fitment goes.

The screen lid was also _slightly_ off from flush when I closed it, and I had them look at it at the genius bar. They said it was "within spec" but they took it to their back room workshop and "adjusted" it. Haha - not sure what they did but it's slightly better. Hopefully they didn't just bend it! :)

Anyway I'm super impressed with this notebook - REALLY fast, quiet, and runs cool.
