I just got my new 15" 2.2ghz MBP today, and I'm having a pretty annoying problem. When it's plugged in everything works fine. Then when I'm using the battery, exposé and the dashboard are very sluggish. If I press the buttons to open them a few times it starts to run normally, so it seems like it's taking the GPU a few seconds to throttle up to normal speed. I did not have this problem on my old MBP with the X1600. How do I fix this?

I am using custom energy savings, but even set to best performance it's still messed up.

oh hhmmm, have u checked activty monitor to make sure RAM and cpu are not being used up by something random? sometimes on new macs spotlight uses ur cpu to index ur hhd.. other than that ive got no idea

Nope. Like I said as soon as it's plugged in it works normally.

I have the exact same problem with my 1st generation Macbook Pro (sluggish expose on battery, fine on AC power). You also get the same effect if you connect a second monitor and use extended desktop. I have also seen the sluggish expose on a Mac Pro 2.66GHz connected to two monitors (so using extended desktop). I also know people with a 2.16, 2.33 and 2.4GHz Macbook Pro who also have the same problem.
