This puppy looks impressive. Of course it'll be standard connector. Any thoughts on whether or not this could become available as an nmp upgrade?

Could a 512GB model be upgraded to it aftermarket? Is the 1TB model faster than the 512?

Evidently , this drive supports the AHCI software interface as it does not support NVMe .

Good news for Mac users . Boot support should be native with OS X .

It also has a PCIe REV 3 four lane hardware interface .

Anandtech will review it in 1 or 2 months , but here is a preliminary look :

The Apple part MZ-KPV1T00/0A2 uses the same controller as the Samsung SM951 and does 1400MB/s read and write, one MacRumors member were lucky enough to grab one by chance.

Has anyone ever seen one of those outside of the initial batch offered for sale? That was very mysterious.
