I moved it off my testing desk onto my production desk and a few things that I noticed:

- It's running Monterey 12.4 so this may have been sitting around in the store for a while.
- It's fast as hell. Moderately faster in feel than my M1 Pro.
- The scaled resolutions on my Dell 4k monitor include 3,360 x 1,890, 3,008 x 1,692, 2K and HD. The scaled resolution off my M1 mini only go up to 3,008 x 1,890. My iMac 27 offers 3,200 x 1,800. 2,880 x 1,620, etc. So the geometries might be a little different. I'm going to run the office monitor at 3,008 x 1,692 which is my preferred resolution on 27 inch 4k monitors.

I'm running my production on the mini and will run office stuff on the Studio for the day and then move the production stuff over to the Studio tonight. I am hoping that it handles all with grace and ease. I may regret not going for 64 GB of RAM but we'll see on that.

I just got my M1 Max and it flies. I did have an M1 Max 16" MBP but this feels faster for some reason!
maybe coz the laptop power draw is limited as compared to the studio? Wondering how much raw power of the chips is held back by limiting the power..Either way, when i had the studio ultra, it was fast but was bug ridden back in May but realized i was fine with my m1 mac book pro for my tasks.

I installed Macs Fan Control and the thermals are great. 19-32 degrees from the very long list of sensors. I removed the iMac from my desk last night and moved in a monitor so only two systems on the desktop right now. I'm going to leave the mini on the desk today to run production and so that I can move stuff from the mini to the Studio. I think that it can run everything right now.

Any update?

It's running just fine.

I still have to move a bit of office stuff over to it and my NAS drive and can then repurpose my mini or sell it.

It's rather amazing how smooth the transition from mini to Studio is but I suppose that one is just a superset of the other so it's reasonable.

The Studio is just so smooth that I don't really even think about the hardware anymore. I always kept an eye on RAM use with the mini. Supporting three monitors natively is nice too. I plan to put the monitor used by the mini on the Studio so it will run 4 displays. I don't expect any issues doing this.

I moved my Movie/TV library and Music libraries over today and and I have a lot of different documents in different document types from the mini to the Studio today. I have a lot of documents on the iMac that I plan to move over to the Studio as well
