You will be able to play it just fine, the AppleTV will allow you to stream content off your Mac; even purchased content. All you need to do is leave iTunes open. I would recommend having at least a G or N speed wireless connection though.

thank u!
i was wondering that could i use ATV on a non HDTV?!

Well said...

I have a huge library that I stream to both ATV's... about 1,300 movies and 3,000 songs and TV shows etc.
The photo librarys are great to have on the TV as well !

If I use a NAS or other HDD connected to the AirPort Extreme, can the AppleTV access that? or only from another Mac? Can I choose to have an external HDD connected to the AppleTV itself for content?

i want to ask can i view videos n tv shows not from itunes store on the ATV or only itunes videos?!
also can i burn or put the shows i purchased from itunes on a DVD or a memory stick?
