Hi

On an impulse buy (love at first sight) I bought an unlocked iPhone yesterday, so I have unexpectedly (but delightly) joined the community of dodgy iPhone hackers.

I want to get myself 'up to speed' asap, my priorities being (1) being able to unlock the phone myself (2) being able to add and remove apps myself.

Clearly I have a lot of searching and googling to do tonight, but if there is a main resource website with reliable information all in one place I would be very happy pleased to hear about it here :)

I am on software v1.1.1 and one of my immediate worries is if I have to do a restore it will re-lock the phone, so I would like to be able to sort that out independently.

If any of you have recently been in a similar boat and know of good places to find clear and reliable information on points (1) and (2) I'd be really glad to hear from you. I will post back a summary here for future reference :)

Thanks a lot.

H.

Edit:

Oh and here is my first update - I found this excellent site with the GPRS settings for most networks and most countries - so I already have my GPRS working :)
Settings>General>Network>EDGE>then enter the APN, username and password.

Edit 2:

In the end I found pretty much everthing I needed here : http://iphone.unlock.no/

Cheers,

H.
