I was wondering if I could simply plug in my iphone to my mac/pc, and just drag and drop files onto my iphone? I found I could do limited things when plugged into itunes on my mac.

Can I just drag and drop files onto the phone's hard drive like I can with android?

No. You can use a multitude of cloud based options including iCloud Drive, google drive, and Dropbox. There are plenty of other option as well.

You can download free apps that let you hold files and you can use iTunes to drag files into those apps. Documents by Readdle is a really good app for this, and it's a very powerful app on its own. I highly recommend it.

What files did you plan on storing on your phone?
