I am trying to print from my shared windows printer, but i can't. I even shared both machines and that work. i can see mac files from windows and vice versa.
When i did it at first and tried printing i got an Authentication Error but i figured out why it was doing that. Now it just does this.

Printing - Printing page 1, 46% complete....

Any Ideas?:(

What printer is it? Have you gone to the manufacturer website and installed the updated drivers?

its a HP DeskJet 2050. I did but i will try it again. maybe i made a mistake.

Yes its hard wired but i did not do the latter. how do i go about doing that?

Found on the internet, worked for me :

"On the Windows 7 PC :

1. In Windows 7 Control Panel
2. Select "Programs and Features" pane
3. Click "Turn Windows Features on or off"
4. Turn on the LPD protocol. (*)
5. Ensure printer named HP6122 (note no spaces in name) is shared"

(*) may take a while, be patient.

Also make sure the PC and the Mac use the same workgroup name :

"Make sure Mac (named "Dick") is added to the homegroup;
System Preferences ==> Network ==> Advanced ==> WINS ==>*
then add "dick" to NetBIOS name and "WORKGROUP"(*) in the workgroup box*"

(*) if "WORKGROUP" is the actual name used on the Windows pc.

My bad i guess i can't ask for help about mac's in a mac forum.

You're welcome to come here and ask for help, but you should ask in the right place. This part of the forum is labelled "Apple Hardware > Desktops > Mac Pro", people come here to talk about the Mac Pro, a piece of Desktop Apple Hardware.

If you'd posted in the part of the forum that says "Mac Basics and Help - new to mac or not sure where to post? ask any hardware or software question here." you would be much more likely to get a useful response, and not have people wondering why your thread is in a part of the forum dedicated to a specific machine that your post doesn't even mention.
