Hey guys,

I have just bought a new mac and i'm a pc user, i copied all my music albums from my pc to my ext hard drive and then copy it to my mac but i notice that some of the songs are not readable on my mac and i check my hard drive from my mac finder and some of the songs are gone but when i plug my hard drive back to my pc, i can clearly see the songs there.

Please help me out here as my music collections are very precious to me.

Thanks!

My suggestions:

Start moving your music from the PC to the Mac "a little at a time".
Move the files that are readable first.

Then… work on those that are giving you problems.

Are the files in question all "mp3" files?
Or, are they different formats?
Also, make sure the files have the extension ".mp3" after the filenames.

yea the ones that are unreadable are mp3s and the ones that are readable are also mp3s

Check the permissions on the files that the Mac is unable to read.
how do i check? and what do i need to check?

Right Click on one of the MP3 files that are problematic and select "get Info" in the box that pops up you will get detail about the file including permissions and you can also change those permissions.

I see, btw i fixed the situation! :D
I make my whole music album into a zip file then copy the zip file to my mac then unzip it on my mac and it worked out well!
