Is there a 'Delete' key on the MacBook Pro? I can't see one...:D

The delete key on the MBP is like the backspace key on wintels. You should be able to use "fn + delete" to work like windows.

If you mean "Mac OS X delete," then it is in the back right corner, in front of the eject button. If you mean "Windows delete," which is called "Forward delete" for us Maccers, use fn+delete to get that.

Beaten by 18 minutes...you must be a slow typer. ;)

Glad somebody stepped up to answer this. I was afraid that the question was booby trapped...um, the delete key is in the upper right of your key...*BOOM!*

And just like that...no more WildCowboy.

Um, I have one on my Powerbook. I guess that isn't included in "laptops in general".

So do I, but we're talking about an actual forward-delete function, like what the Delete key does in Windows. This is on the Apple keyboards, but not on the notebooks. You have to hold down the Fn key and press Delete.

Too simple, eh? Nah, I walk right into those :D

What happens to be the fn key:rolleyes:

Must...resist...walking...into...a...second...booby...trapped...question...in...the...same...thread...

Check the lower left hand corner of your keyboard for the "fn" key.

*looks around nervously...waiting...waiting*

I'm not dead yet...

If you're sitting in front of a regular keyboard the question may be less obvious because there isn't a "fn" (function) key. (I think...)

Now nobody else go and make WildCowboy nervous. :p Though, I've heard stories about a mysterious "tab" key, where's that? ;)

They're labeled "backspace" now? That is weird.

Well, that's the more traditional name for such an action, at least in the PC world. Gotta take care of those switchers. ;)

And if you're using a full-sized keyboard, you don't have a "fn" key because you don't need one. Your F1-F16 keys are separate from your hardware controls and you have both "backspace" and "delete" keys. I thought we were talking about laptops...darn booby traps.
