How to press Tab to switch between buttons (OK/Cancel) in dialogs?

I know there's a function that let you press tab to switch between buttons, I already enabled that, but even with that enabled when I press Tab the focus of the button doesn't change at all, it always stays on the OK button. Windows handles this much more neatly.

back in tiger they briefly had this, but took it away permantly.

Try hitting the space bar after tabbing to the button you want....

You need to enable it under Preferences -> Keyboard and select "Full keyboard access".

The OP can already highlight the button so he has already done this.....

Working! Thanks so much. I didn't know that pressing Space and Enter gives different results.
