OS X New to Steam can't go to online mode?

Can somebody help me out here? I downloaded Steam and am trying to log in through my PS3 account. It says to go Online select Steam > Go Online but theres no option there for me to do that?

I have tried restarting my Mac as well as the Steam app and nothing. What am I doing wrong here?!

Have you opted in any betas? Try deleting the clientblob, it usually solves most issues.

No I have not I am pretty much new to gaming on Mac as well as Steam, I basically just went to the Steam website via google downloaded the dmg and opened it.

I have reset it and tried deleting it but it did nothing same as the screenshot above. Any other ideas?

Maybe your firewall is blocking it? Never seen a problem like this regretfully... It could be a corrupt installation.

I am upgraded to the latest OSX Lion. I have since just went ahead and made a new account and it seems to be working now. I really wanted to go through my PSN username though just in case there is some integration within the Playstation Network UI when the PS4 releases, maybe something where you can see friends on while online.
