Hello peeps,

Just picked up my new iMac 27", and its a monster. I'm a PC user normally, but I got fed up of the whole windows malarky and thought I might aswell upgrade to a mac.

Just wondering if there is any software that doesn't come as standard that people find essential to install for everyday use.

Any advice would be great :)

Then just google the apps that get your attention and you're all set :)

Welcome to the club! I am also an ex windows user. I got tired of managing firewalls, malware, anti-virus software, freezing tasks etc...Now I can just get on with what I need to do. MUCH happier! :)

For me an Office program is absolutely essential, so I use "Open Office", it's free and works great! http://download.openoffice.org/index.html

Thanks everyone,

I decided to get office with it, so thats just been installed, it looks superb on the 27", plenty of room!
