I am in the process (long) of transferring our publications from old G4s/OS 9 to new iMacs/Tiger. I'm going to use Pages in iWork 08 as our dtp needs are fairly lightweight.

Two questions so far:

1. Where have the lovely old Mac 'Fill Patterns' gone? Diagonal stripes/crosshatching/dots etc. All that seems to be on offer now are 'Fill Colours'

2. One of the fonts we use a lot - Skia - we have hitherto set it to 'Outline'. It is often placed on top of a tinted panel. Now, on the new kit, the tinted panel shows through the outlined font. Hitherto, outlined fonts would cut through and show solid white on top of the tint. Is there anything I can do about this? (The font is irrelevant, it seems. No outlined font will cut through a tint below.)

Many thanks

Thank you for replying so quickly, but I'm afraid I don't understand the question.

modified to add: thanks to all but I've now got the precise answers I needed off another Mac support forum.

(details of precise answers supplied if anyone's interested)
