I have an ATV 3, a MBP, iPad, and iPhone. Up until this morning everything was working perfectly. After updating my iTunes this morning, home sharing stopped working and airplay stopped working. I think home sharing has a stake in all of these functions so I think the update did something. What should I do? Has anyone else experienced this?

1st off I have had no issue.

when you said is broken everything it sounds like it's just home sharing that isn't working, try setting that up again and see how that goes.

Did you reboot your computer and ATV3? Sometimes that will solve the iTunes issues.

go into itunes then advanced turn off home sharing then turn it back on mine does this time to time and i have issue were my apple tv goes back to the home screen after it wakes from sleep i want to fix my mothers apple tv2 does not do this

The new update has definitely caused problems in Home Sharing!

I have Apple TV 2 and when I'm streaming movies through Home Sharing on my Mac which is running the latest iTunes, all of a sudden the movie cuts out and takes me to the main menu in Apple TV....

Yes I have tried everything you can think of from resetting my Time Capsule to resetting my Apple Tv, my friend just messaged me having the same problem!

We want a fix Apple!

No problem with either my ATV 2 or 3.

I've also been having intermittent issues with home sharing dropping mid use since the update, have to restart the router every time.

When will they fix iTunes arrggg

Yeah exactly same problem with mine!

I have to actually unplug my Time Capsule and plug it back in then it works

Should not have to do this though

Same problem here. It seems everything was working fine until the latest AppleTV update.

After about 5 mins of playing a video or listening to music the AppleTV returns to the main menu and the computer disappears from the home sharing list.

I even had a case where the entire networking between the computers failed, and another where the entire WiFi simply didn't work any more.

Usually I have to restart the time capsule and/or modem, while sometimes rebooting the computer or just iTunes and home sharing does the trick.

Very annoying as it was working perfectly for more than a year that I have the AppleTV :(

Sometimes I can watch several movies without problems, but then the issue strikes again 5 mins into the movie.

I hope this gets fixed soon, as this really crippled the AppleTV and we use it all the time at home.

mine has been working fine except one time while watching a movie it went back to the home screen i was able to go right back into the movie without a problem. i do have an issue were sometimes when i watch tv shows and then decide to do something on my mac itunes crashes and when i open it back up it has not remembered the shows i have watched

I had a very odd problem. When I upgraded to the latest iTunes; I couldn't see the content on Home Sharing. So I unplugged my ATV3 and plugged it back in. It came up and I had to reconnect it to the network. BUT it wouldn't let me connect to the network (I'm wired and using DHCP). I was confused, so I unplugged the network cable and then plugged it back in. After that it worked fine. I have no idea why it wouldn't see anything on the network line but unplugging the NETWORK cable fixed the problem. Might want to try that.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. I noticed every time I updated my aTV, Homesharing would get borked, and that is what fixed it for me.
