Hi, I'd like to put a torrent download program, on my mac and VLC (or equivalent).
I read via Goggle that uTorrent is no good on "Big Sur" as its not 64 bit. How do I see if I have Big Sur, or not?
I have a Macbook Pro. Any advice appreciated. I have(at this stage) done nothing with the Mac, and more familiar with Windows.

Go to Apple in upper left and select "About This Mac" from the menu. Read what it tells you.

That suggests the info on Google is wrong, so I downloaded utorrent and attemped to install.. but a window came up with an arrow to "Applications" but the utorrent icon had a No Smoking icon on it. I presume that means can't do it?

It's not compatible with Big Sur. Big Sur runs only 64 bit apps. You'll need to find an alternative.

I suppose it all depends on what you want it for. I'm living in a non english speaking country with strict censorship laws. I have to use a VPN to watch any free to air TV from home. Occasionally we will download a British or US TV series via Folx and replay it for our private viewing. These are not copyright violations. The process is so simple with Folx Pro. I search, pick a file, download, transfer to a USB thumb drive and plug it into a Mi Box connected to our TV. That's it. Really there are no other choices because live streaming apps require subscriptions (even if they're free) in the country of origin.
