Hi all.
This morning I updated my two ATV2's. One worked fine (the slightly newer of the two). One did not. It never rebooted after the download of the update.
I unplugged it and plugged it back in, and then it came up with an iTunes logo with a USB cable which obviously meant I had to connect it to my Mac.
I didn't have a Micro USB cable, nor did it come with one. So I went and purchased one of those.
I plugged it in and attempted to restore in iTunes, 5 times. Each time failed. 4 out of 5 times the error is (1611) and 1 of the times it was error (21).
I have tried putting it into direct firmware update mode (DFU) but that didn't appear to do much except re-mount it as a device in iTunes which would allow me to re-do the restore... which fails.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Scott
