I like, simple and easy to navigate you can't go wrong.

I love the illustrations they look fantastic.

By placing the image as a background people won't be able to see the whole thing unless they have large screens. It also takes a while for it to load with no user feedback that it's doing anything (I thought it was broken and almost left). This setup also makes it looks like something didn't load, like there should be textual content there.

The navigation menu is small and hard to read.

There's also some invalid CSS, http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/

The "Email Me" link uses the same color as the other headers, which are not links. This creates inconsistency and can confuse visitors.

angelwatt, thanks for taking the time to look at it.

The background image is part of a random cycle all 4 images are under 150k so am surprised it takes so long to load. did the navigation come up straight away?

thanks everyone

Yes, navigation was visible mostly right away, and then just white for the rest of the screen until the image loaded. Using the link below you can see that 150KB takes about 20 seconds for people on 56Kbps dial-up. I'm on cable modem and it took about 3 or 4 seconds. Not horribly long, but can vary depending on various things, most of which are outside your control.

Also, I acknowledge that this isn't really much of a problem, I just wanted to make you aware of it. it's a lot of white space and when people don't see content they figure the page is broken and will leave very quickly.
